Cookie Policy
Effective 26 October 2026
The Runic Wiki stores at most two things on your device. Each one is essential to a feature you choose to use, so the law allows them without asking for consent first: Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, and regulation 6 of the UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. There are no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies.
| Name | Kind | Purpose | Set when | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Host-runic_session | First-party cookie, HttpOnly and Secure | Keeps you signed in. It holds a random token and nothing else about you | You sign in or create an account | Until you close the browser, and 7 days at most. With "Keep me signed in", 30 days from your last visit. Signing out deletes it |
theme, followed by a short code for this site | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose dark or light mode | You use the dark and light toggle | Until you clear this site's data |
A visitor who never signs in and never uses the toggle has nothing stored at all.
Removing them
- Sign out deletes the sign-in cookie. Sign out everywhere, in Account settings, ends every session on every device at once.
- Clearing this site's cookies and data in your browser removes both. You'll be signed out, and the wiki goes back to dark mode.
If this changes
If the wiki ever adds analytics, embedded media or anything else that stores data for another purpose, it will ask for your consent before setting it, and this page will list it.
Questions go to privacy@varension.org. The Privacy Policy covers everything stored with an account.
