Latch Block
A lock with conditions: keyed, it seals its set while its key block touches the latch; unkeyed, it seals until Tier blocks press against all six faces of the latch.
Pattern
Hover a tile to name it. Reading pattern diagrams explains the symbols.
- Tier block × 12Every T is the same block, and that block’s Tier sets the rune’s strength.
- Signature block × 4Each arm holds a Tier 1+ block other than the Tier block, or stays empty (air or Tier 0). Read by compass direction, the arms spell the rune’s signature.
- Air or a Tier 0 block × 4Leave these as air, or fill them with Tier 0 blocks such as dirt or stone.
- Activation blockThe glowing cell is the one to click.
- SpentCells with a corner mark are used up when the rune wakes.

How it works
A Latch is a Lock with conditions. It seals a two-shape set and drives it by click or redstone, but only while its condition allows:
| Latch | Drives the set when |
|---|---|
| Without a key | All six faces of the Latch touch Tier 1 or higher blocks. |
| With a key | Its key block is away from it. Setting the key against any face holds the set fast. |
A keyed Latch makes a bolt: set its key block against it, and the door stays shut whatever anyone clicks. Take the key away to free it. An unkeyed Latch works the other way round: bury it in Tier blocks and it answers, and open any face to hold the set shut.
A Latch that is holding shut also stops Spleef and Sploggle blocks in its set from answering clicks.

usage-messages | false | When true, chat reports each use of this toggle/lock family rune. |
max-set | 8192 | Max orthogonally connected cells sharing one signature that this rune may wave (hard-capped at 8192). |
