Binds a chest, barrel, or shulker box as an aetherial store. Obelisks, fields, and pads seated upon it draw their Tier offerings from inside.

How it works

An Aether Chest binds a chest, barrel, or shulker box into a store of fuel. Right-click the container to bind it, and the rest of the pattern burns away. The rune drinks itself into the chest — the aether remembers it. The container opens normally from then on.

Set the bound container in a rune's fuel seat, and the rune draws Tier blocks from inside it as it needs them:

• Fields and obelisks such as the Force Field, Tranquility Obelisk, and Hearth refill from it when their time runs low.
• A True Name pad with the chest at its centre keeps itself charged.
• A Reality Master with one on a seat burns the lapis, emerald, iron, and gold blocks inside for charges.

An Aether Chest refills a running rune. The first raise of a field still needs a real Tier block.

Good to know

• A double chest made from a bound chest is Aether across both halves. Only breaking the half you bound clears the magic.
• A container claimed by a Compressor or a Michelson-Morley Chest cannot also be an Aether Chest.
• An Aether Ward silences Aether Chests inside its sphere.

Configuration

These are the defaults in plugins/Runic/runes/aetherchest.yml. Every rune file also carries the shared settings described in Rune files.

Aether Chest has no settings of its own beyond the shared ones.
