Drydock

A snow berth of bone and oak around a dried ghast. The ghast is consumed as the dock wakes. Park a Happy Ghast here and it will not fade; calling it home spends a charge. Higher Tier, more recalls and a wider berth.

How it works

A Drydock is a berth for a Happy Ghast. Build the snow berth around a dried ghast and right-click it. The four redstone corners and the dried ghast are spent, and the berth wakes. The Drydock wakes — a Happy Ghast within 16 blocks can take the berth (21 recalls).

Work the berth by right-clicking its heart or one of its lanterns:

  • Parking. With a Happy Ghast within reach, a click parks it. A parked ghast never despawns. The Happy Ghast takes the berth — it will not fade.
  • Recalling. With your ghast away, a click calls it home to the berth. Each recall spends one charge. The Happy Ghast returns to the Drydock (20 left).
  • Releasing. Sneak and click to let the ghast go. The Drydock lets its Happy Ghast go.

A ghast resting on the berth stays still until a rider climbs aboard.

The Tier blocks set both the number of recalls and how far a ghast may be to take the berth, from 8 blocks at Tier 1 to 32 at Tier 7.

Good to know

  • Each Drydock answers only to its keeper, and each ghast belongs to one Drydock.
  • Recalls stay in one world, and a Teleport Ward holds the berth still.
  • A Happy Ghast called by a Ghast Harness cannot take a berth.
