Michelson-Morley Chest

A copper and tinted-glass interferometer about a storage chest, built to measure what the aether does and does not carry. Its keepers insist it is science, not magic.

How it works

The Michelson-Morley Chest is an interferometer that recharges Runic tools. Right-click the storage chest at its heart to bind it, and the frame collapses into the chest. The interferometer collapses into the chest — ether drifts on.

Stock the chest with Tier blocks. Then right-click it while holding a Runic item that has a limited number of charges. The chest spends one Tier block, the first it finds, and returns some charges to the item's first limited effect. The interferometer returns a negative result. Only 12 charges restored. Maybe Einstein's General Relativity can do better.

Each Tier block restores two thirds of what that block is worth when the rune is first bound, so higher-Tier blocks restore far more. An item already at its charge cap takes nothing.

Good to know

See Charges for other ways to top up a tool.

Configuration

These are the defaults in plugins/Runic/runes/michelsonmorleychest.yml. Every rune file also carries the shared settings described in Rune files.

Michelson-Morley Chest has no settings of its own beyond the shared ones.
