Waypoint

The receiving half of the travel network. Its four signature blocks name this destination for every Teleporter and arch that shares them.

Pattern

Hover a tile to name it. Reading pattern diagrams explains the symbols.

5 × 5, one layer. Drawn on the ground, on a wall, or on a ceiling, facing any direction.

?TTT?TT↑TTT←T→TTT↓TT?TTT?
  • Tier block × 17
Every T is the same block, and that block’s Tier sets the rune’s strength.
  • Signature block × 4
Each arm holds a Tier 1+ block other than the Tier block, or stays empty (air or Tier 0). Read by compass direction, the arms spell the rune’s signature.
  • Optional cell × 4
Leave it empty or place a block here; the rune wakes either way.
  • Activation block
The glowing cell is the one to click.

How it works

A Waypoint is the receiving end of the travel network. Its four signature blocks name this spot as a destination, and every Teleporter, Master Teleporter, Personal Teleport, and Viatorem's Arch that shares them leads here.

Right-click the heart to attune it. Waypoint attuned (Tier 2). Travelers who match this signature will arrive here. The Waypoint stays where it is, and travelers land beside it on a side with room to stand.

Tier

A traveling rune reaches a Waypoint of its own Tier or lower. The destination waypoint (Tier 4) outclasses this rune (Tier 2) — rebuild it from higher-Tier blocks. Build Waypoints from low-Tier blocks such as cobblestone, and every Teleporter can reach them.

Owning a signature

  • A signature belongs to the first mage who attunes a Waypoint with it. Another mage has already claimed this signature. Choose different signature blocks.
  • Attune a new Waypoint with a signature you already own, and the destination moves to the new one. An existing destination with this signature was overridden.
  • Break a Waypoint and the next trip toward it finds it gone.

See Travel for the whole network and Signatures and keys for picking signature blocks.

Configuration

These are the defaults in plugins/Runic/runes/waypoint.yml. Every rune file also carries the shared settings described in Rune files.

Waypoint has no settings of its own beyond the shared ones.
