Damage Sensor

Forges a pad-designator: strike a designated block, and the automation sharing its signature fires.

Pattern

Hover a tile to name it. Reading pattern diagrams explains the symbols.

  • Tier block × 2
Every T is the same block, and that block’s Tier sets the rune’s strength.
  • Signature block × 4
Each arm holds a Tier 1+ block other than the Tier block, or stays empty (air or Tier 0). Read by compass direction, the arms spell the rune’s signature.
  • Air or a Tier 0 block × 84
Leave these as air, or fill them with Tier 0 blocks such as dirt or stone.
  • Activation block
The glowing cell is the one to click.
  • Spent
Cells with a corner mark are used up when the rune wakes.

Keys

    How it works

The Damage Sensor forges a pad designator. Hold any item and right-click the pattern, then right-click any block with the item to make it a pad. Damage Sensor pad set. Left-click to fire.

Strike a pad with a left-click to fire its signature. It wakes every block marked under that signature by an Automation Designator, in the order they were marked.

    Good to know

    • It reaches marked blocks within 32 blocks per Tier, measured as a flat square.
    • A pad waits two seconds between fires.
    • The runes it wakes act for the player who struck the pad.
    • A pad resists breaking. Break it with a Runic sword, a sword that carries bound magic, to remove the pad; it fires one last time as it goes.
    • Only the player who set a pad can set it again or remove it. Others hear This Damage Sensor pad answers only to the one who set it. See Ownership.

    Tips

Make a target block a pad, and an arrow or a sword swing can open a door across the room.

See Automation for the whole system.
