Oracle

Binds its sight to a held item — blocks touched with that item confess their Tier.

Pattern

Hover a tile to name it. Reading pattern diagrams explains the symbols.

3 × 3, one layer. Drawn flat on the ground, facing any compass direction.

  • Activation block
The glowing cell is the one to click.
  • Spent
Cells with a corner mark are used up when the rune wakes.

Keys

  • Redstone Dust × 8
    spent when the rune wakes
  • Bookshelf × 1
    spent when the rune wakes

How it works

The Oracle binds its sight to the item in your hand. Hold any item and right-click the bookshelf at its heart. The Oracle's sight binds to your Stick (64 charges). The redstone ring burns away.

Right-click any block with the bound item to learn its Tier. The Oracle reads the Iron Block: Tier 4. Each reading spends one charge.

Good to know

  • The Oracle works before Initiation, so it is often a new mage's first rune.
  • Tiers decide the strength of most runes. See Tiers and the Block Tiers table.

Configuration

These are the defaults in plugins/Runic/runes/oracle.yml. Every rune file also carries the shared settings described in Rune files.
