Permanence

The great fixative: the offered magic item keeps to you in death, returns when thrown, never despawns, shrugs off fire — and its spendable magic never runs dry. Ankheg Armor and Dragon Heart levels are left alone.

How it works

Permanence is the great fixative. Crown its sigil with a dragon egg, hold any item that already carries Runic magic, and right-click the egg. The whole sigil burns away except the dragon egg, which survives the ritual.

The bound item then:

  • stays with you when you die, returning to you when you respawn,
  • flies back to your hand a moment after you throw it,
  • never despawns,
  • shrugs off fire, lava, and cactus,
  • and never runs out of charges: every effect already on it becomes unlimited.

Only the void unmakes it.

See Charges for more.

Enchantment

The enchantment is called Permanence. Hold a Runic item (tool, designator, Magma Gel, …) while you wake the rune.

Configuration

These are the defaults in plugins/Runic/runes/permanence.yml. Every rune file also carries the shared settings described in Rune files.

Permanence has no settings of its own beyond the shared ones.
