A booster pad. Redstone torches on the wool ring aim the launch; without them, straight up you go. The fling holds for five seconds. Land on wool to walk away unharmed.

How it works

The Accelerator is a booster pad. Right-click the centre of the pad to raise it. Anything that steps onto the pad is flung into the air: players, creatures, and vehicles with their riders.

Right-click the pad again to wind it down. The accelerator winds down.

Aiming

With no torches on the wool ring, the pad flings straight up. Place redstone torches on the ring to aim the launch toward them, at 30 degrees above the horizon. Torches on several sides combine their pulls. The pad reads the torches anew each time it flings, so you can re-aim it at any time.

Good to know

• The pattern's Tier sets the launch speed when you raise the pad.
• Land back on the pad and you take no fall damage.
• Breaking the pattern, by hand or by an explosion, ends the magic.
• A raised pad stays raised when the server restarts.
