Chrono Trigger

A dial that commands the sky: day, night, or the hour its dial selects. It asks open sky, a pinch of redstone, and patience between uses.

How it works

The Chrono Trigger is a clock face that turns the sky. Hold redstone dust and right-click the diamond. One dust burns away and the world swings from day to night, or from night to day. The dust burns away and the wheel of time turns. The day shifts.

Naming the hour

Stand one redstone torch on top of a block of the dial's outer ring to choose an exact hour. The gold half of the dial holds the day and the obsidian half holds the night, so the face turns with the rune. Going around the ring, the hours run in order:

Torch onHour
The gold block beside the diamondSunrise
The next gold block, a cornerMorning
The middle of the all-gold rowNoon
The far gold cornerAfternoon
The obsidian block beside the diamondSunset
The next obsidian block, a cornerEvening
The middle of the all-obsidian rowMidnight
The last obsidian cornerThe small hours

The dust burns away and the wheel of time turns to noon. Leave only one torch on the ring.

Good to know

  • The dial must stand at height 100 or above, under open sky.
  • After each use, the dial needs 20 minutes of real time to rewind. The dial is still rewinding — about 1140s remain.

Configuration

These are the defaults in plugins/Runic/runes/chronotrigger.yml. Every rune file also carries the shared settings described in Rune files.
