Soulwell
A soul-sand cauldron that drinks the dying nearby. When you scoop, the block beneath chooses Healing (red nether bricks) or Harming (nether bricks) — swap it anytime. The ring burns away; the cauldron remains.

How it works
The Soulwell is a cauldron that drinks the dying. Wake it, and the ring of soul sand and torches burns away, leaving the cauldron bound. When a creature dies within 8 blocks, the well drinks its soul and its experience.
Every eight souls fill one vial, and the well holds up to three. Scoop with a glass bottle to draw a splash potion. You bottle a splash of Healing from the Soulwell.
Healing or Harming
The block beneath the cauldron chooses the potion when you scoop:
| Block beneath | Potion |
|---|---|
| Red nether bricks | Splash Potion of Healing |
| Nether bricks | Splash Potion of Harming |
Swap the block whenever you like. The well fills without one, and only scooping needs it.
Good to know
- Breaking the cauldron spills everything it holds. The Soulwell stills — its charge spills into nothing.
- A cauldron holds one well. When a Soulwell and a Marrow Well both stand near a death, the closer one drinks it.
