Damage Hex

A hex bound to a diamond. Deposited in a block with a curse, it waits: whoever strikes that block takes the curse, one charge a victim.

Pattern

Hover a tile to name it. Reading pattern diagrams explains the symbols.

5 × 5, one layer. Drawn flat on the ground, facing any compass direction.

  • Tier block × 4
Every T is the same block, and that block’s Tier sets the rune’s strength.
  • Air or a Tier 0 block × 4
Leave these as air, or fill them with Tier 0 blocks such as dirt or stone.
  • Activation block
The glowing cell is the one to click.
  • Spent
Cells with a corner mark are used up when the rune wakes.

How it works

The Damage Hex springs a trap on whoever strikes the block. Hold a plain diamond and right-click the obsidian heart. The whole rune is spent, and the diamond carries the hex. Damage Hex binds to your diamond (4 charges).

Bind a curse to the same diamond, then right-click a block with it to sink both into the block. From then on, anyone who hits that block takes the curse, and so does a creature that breaks or changes it. Each victim spends one charge.

Tips

Hide it in a block a thief would break: a vault door, a chest, or the last block of a wall.

See Hexes and curses for the full process.
