Ownership
When you raise lasting magic, Runic remembers you. Most of the time this changes nothing: anyone with permission can use a Teleporter you built or trip a sensor you placed. Some magic, though, answers only to its maker.
Magic that answers to its owner
| Magic | What only the owner can do |
|---|---|
| Wards | Lower the ward by right-clicking its emerald. Others hear This ward answers only to its maker. |
| Travel signatures | Claim the signature. A Waypoint, Freightpoint, or Faithpoint signature belongs to whoever attuned it first. See Signatures and keys. |
| Domain | Resize it and keep its guest list. The owner and listed guests may build inside. |
| Keystone | Set it on a Faith island; only the island's owner may. Guests the stone shares its ward with may build there too. |
| Drydock | Command the dock and its ghast. |
| Piertotum Locomotor | Command the sentry and mark its friends. |
| Qixsilver Reservoir and Wellspring | Raise the fuel chest or change its priority. |
| Sensors | Disarm the sensor or attune it again. Others hear This sensor answers only to the one who attuned it. |
| Damage Sensor pads | Set the pad again, or remove it with a Runic sword. Others hear This Damage Sensor pad answers only to the one who set it. |
| Automation Designator marks | Change the mark on a block. Others hear This block holds another mage's designation; only its maker may change it. |
| Personal Automation Designator | Trigger its marked blocks. They wake only while their owner is online. |
Breaking a rune's blocks is a separate matter. Anyone who can break blocks in that spot can break a pattern, and a broken pattern stops working. Protect valuable runes with a Domain, a Keystone, or your server's land claims.
Bound items
Magic bound to an item travels with the item. Give someone your Power Tool pickaxe and it works for them.
Staff override
Players with the runic.admin.bypass-owner permission may act as the owner of any magic. Server operators have it by default. See Permissions.
Imported magic
Magic imported from Runecraft has no owner at first. Anyone may use it, and the first player who does becomes its owner. See Runecraft import.
Passing magic on
The True Name Altar is the staff's last resort. Worked with a player's head, it strips every Runic asset from that head's owner and grants them all to the player who works it. Server staff use it to settle disputes or move a player's magic to a new account.
